The sun is shining!

Iced tea on a beautiful day!

The boats are finding their way into the docks...

Yes, it feels like winter is dead.

Indoor Picnic

It has rained...
 and rained...
and in Chicago.

In anticipation of the upcoming warmer temps and sunny dayz...
I decided to have an indoor picnic to encourage summer to

Tartan plaid...candles...

A little wine and some sparkling water....

An assortment of cheeses...avocado...hummus...carrots...and crackers....

I turned on some music and found myself smiling...

Anticipating summer....

It's Earth Day

LOVE our Earth

The fight for a clean environment continues in a climate of increasing urgency.

Please continue to do your part in helping to create an environmental movement to protect and save our beautiful planet.

It was 68 in Chicago today with a slight breeze...perfect to chill during lunch and sit outside and enjoy.

I'm off to dinner with a good friend to celebrate our wonderful planet!

A FIERCE weekend!

My Niece, Ashley came in for the weekend to have some fun and do a photo shoot for her
Limitless Bracelet Collection.

We had a lot of fun being creative, laughing and just hanging out together.

Drinks and dinner at Cesars Mexican restaurant to kick things off.

  With an early start...

we got a lot accomplished.

Her journey is amazing and I am so proud of her.

Here is a sneak peek at the collection.

Train of thought....

Everyday I cross these tracks.

Most days I get stopped by a train.

I stand and wave.

To the strangers on the train.

I stand there...waving and smiling at all these people I don't even know.

Somehow, it brings me this little bit of joy.

It's silly, I know.

No one knew that until now.

Except for the strangers on the train who saw me.

Then I disappear into the building and it's just another working day.

Tuesday, April 9, 2013 the conservatory...with a shovel

Just next to The Lincoln Park Zoo is the Conservatory.
It's like getting transformed to another place...another time.

Ancient ferns and tropical smelled like Hawaii...I was in heaven.

All the iron and just feels exotic.
Paradise under glass.

I love the big leaves.

The brilliant colors.

The details...

Isn't it simply beautiful?

Staghorn ferns are my absolute favorite.

Orchids...nature's finest.
I love them.

They were everywhere.

A paradise indeed.

How lucky am I, I thought.

This is in my backyard.

Laura and I sat there and decided we must come back.

To sit...breathe it all in...enjoy and stay awhile.

The happy was too loud

The Lincoln Park Zoo is a few blocks from my apartment.
It's free and open everyday of the year!

A kewl iron gate welcoming all.

I loved watching these guys fly around their habitat.

My favorite may have been the Gorillas.
So amazing!

She was a beauty.

Being there, made me think about that movie, We Bought a Zoo.
Have you seen it?

My favorite line...
You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage.
Just literally, twenty seconds of embarrassing bravery.
And I promise you, something great will happen.

Makes you want to go get brave...and something great will happen....
