Is this illegal?

Turns out...
this is one of my favorite pictures from this past weekend.

Apparently, Moses typically rides shotgun and I
took his seat...

So, he decided to sit here.

I love this dog.

Weekend at Corey Lake

I was so excited to go to Corey Lake this past weekend to
celebrate my dear friend Katie!

I love to sit on the dock and chat and chat and chat!

So calm and quiet...

Kewl new log seats for making s'mores!

I love this picture Katie took of the dragonfly that landed on me.
Some say that means you will hear good news...

Moses may be the luckiest puppy on earth!

Tim and Evie paddle boarding!

I spy Moses..

We had a blast at the Barn Party fundraiser for Riley's!

Thank you for an awesome weekend!
I can't wait until I see you all again!

I actually made my way to the lake this weekend.

Perhaps summer has arrived?

Still celebrating....

May 28th, 2013...
We were still celebrating our birthday!
Amanda had to leave for work on Tuesday,
Vee and I decided to spend the rest of the day pretending it was still our birthday.
We sat at the pool...we went shopping and then dressed up and went to dinner.
I have been craving sushi and Amanda suggested this divy place in Los Olas.

Sushi Rock

Sapporo and Sushi are a perfect combination.

We ordered the Rainbow roll, the Bagel roll and the Caterpillar roll.

It was so good.

Vee made us these awesome feather headbands!

We bought ourselves a birthday cake that day at the bakery.

And some Backwoods Cigars...

Sparking up...Wild n' Mild Backwoods...

We had so much fun!

I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have her!

Let us eat C A K E!

On May 27, 2013
We had a great celebration.

On my quest to read the classics,
I had been dying to see this movie when I heard it was coming out!

The Great Gatsby
 Interpreted by Baz Luhrmann
sticks pretty close to the details of the story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

 I loved it.

It is basically a sad story but in typical Baz fashion,
the movie is filled with energy, excitement
and all kinds of fun.
I adored the clothing...
the parties...
and the overall filming was amazing...

I also adore the theater we went to.
You may remember from Hitchcock?
We get to leave comments after seeing the show.
Here are ours...

Mel - NO HOPE
(I'll be honest, HOPE is one of my least favorite words in the English language and this movie's plot was based on all of their hope's and all this promise of life that never materializes)
Vee - Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful
(I can feel the hope in this statement...)
(I agree!  It was all of that!)

We ate at Canyon which is right next to the theater.
I love the cozy atmosphere and prickly pear margaritas.

Beet salad with feta and candied walnuts -- so good!

I didn't care what else we ordered as long as we got the fancy mac and cheese...
it's to die for.

Beef Tenderloin burrito...
it was a winning combination!

It was a wonderful day!

On vacation, life is different...

The perfect vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in.

Like lounging in the sun...

Trying to catch up on those classics....
...or read a few pages and then rest.

Vee was getting through
Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger

The few days we had sun...we spent it in the pool or in the ocean.

Rule followers!

OMG - this one makes me laugh!

When was the last time you did a cannonball?

No one here is acting 42!

Vee is into whites...yes, I least it isn't Fish Eye...
however, I recommend not choosing a wine by it's cute label.
No good.

A perfect way to end the day...

Wishing we were still there...

Back to reality.

Every year on my birthday there is only ONE thing that is an absolute must.

I HAVE to be with VEE!

I don't care what we do...where we are...we just have to be together.

As you know, this year, we celebrated in Florida.

The weather didn't cooperate.

But, we made the very best of it.

When the sun did come out...we walked on the beach...

Dipped our feet in the ocean...

Praised the sun for shining down on us...

And...I took a ton of you all knew I would.

Almost every night we sat on Amanda's deck and took in this beautiful view.

I'll be sharing our week over the next few days!

There was a gift waiting for me when I got home.

An invitation to AARP!

It stated, that their records showed I hadn't yet registered for the valuable benefits and
I am fully eligible.

I am?

I mean, great.

Suddenly, 42 feels old.

Please...just let me wallow in it.

It's only $16...I get an insulated travel bag and they promised to help fight against
age discrimination.

Sounds like a good deal.

Here's to 42!
